KIRUNA Mortar and Pestle

45.00

The KIRUNA cast-iron mortar and pestle is designed for crushing dried spices. It is made for those who enjoy being creative and experimenting with new flavours in the kitchen. KIRUNA is based on the classic mortar shape, refined with a modern, elegant design. Its precisely formed curved shape and ridged interior make crushing spices easy and efficient. The acacia-wood pestle handle is not only elegant but also ergonomic and comfortable to use, while the non-slip silicone base provides stability and protects the work surface from damage.

Always keep spices in the mortar during use to prevent direct contact and friction between the metal surfaces.

Before first use:
Prepare the mortar for use by grinding ½ teaspoon of rice in it. Discard the rice, wash the mortar with dishwashing liquid, and dry thoroughly.

Care and storage:
Protect the mortar from moisture and steam. Store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If it has been used to crush salt, wash it thoroughly after use to prevent rust. Once completely dry, it may be lightly rubbed with food-grade oil. Do not use metal utensils. The mortar is not dishwasher safe.
